Writing an introduction, about myself, is one of the most difficult things for me to do. I’m not a self-promoter, and if I were one, I wouldn’t be very good at it. I would so much rather point the cursor to another time, another place, or another event. When I step back from the page of my history, I try to wield my “pen” with a gentle touch. My goal is to write so that even dark moments seem bathed with light, because, you know, they are.
God has bathed the darkness in my life with His light and grace. No, I don’t mean to portray myself as a saint, because I surely am not. The fact of the matter is, that God took this broken stranger on this planet, and he rewrote my life through His eyes. He painted each dark moment with His paintbrush, so that I would see, and I would share, just how powerful His grace is.
Where I saw despair, He painted hope. Where I saw rejection, He painted love. Where I saw confusion, He painted understanding. Where I saw sadness, He painted laughter. God gave me a new, restored life. I took a leap of faith into my Father’s arms, and He caught me, and I have felt His arms around me ever since.
So, take a walk with me into God’s Garden of Hope. It’s where I live, and write, and laugh, and love. There is no special order. There is no specific plan. However, as we walk together, and you see the different colors of my life, perhaps you, too, will allow God to paint a new life for you.
