It's a blustery day, and I can only watch from my window.
The trees are whipping around, and most of the leaves are gone from the limbs.
They rest on the ground like a carpet of red and gold.
The mountains stand out in stark relief
beneath a sky that is swept by clouds.
Now dark. Now light.
Blue sky peeks through,
and then the sun, sending its token rays, to brighten distant ridges in its glow.
I feel God all around me.
A light dusting of snow blows across the earth.
It's beautiful where we live; pristine vistas of homes, farmland and distant mountains are framed through every window.
God is here.
He's here in every beautiful, sacred nuance.
One leaf hangs…perfect…on a windswept branch.
God is near, very near, in mountains, in sunshine and shadow, in gusts of autumn air, and in the powdery whiteness of the snow.
God is here…right here, in the love and protection of my husband; the voices of my children; in whispers of the past;
and in the promise for the future; in my friends, both old and new, both known and unknown.
God is here...in my heart.
